Over 200 new entries added to our Guide to Online Hate

Published December 12th, 2022

Hi there!

Our team has some exciting news - we just tripled the number of entries in our Guide to Online Hate!

There are now over 250 separate entries in the guide, all of which provide important contextual information in understanding hate displays, on and offline.

One of our priorities throughout our project has been to create Canadian-specific resources. Nearly all these entries - and their attached examples - were directly taken from our research, in which we analyzed hateful memes published by Canadian accounts. This ensures the relevance of the contents of our guide in understanding the specificities of hateful discourse online in Canada.

We're very proud of these new additions, and hope you'll find them insightful. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out!

PS: We know the list is getting long, and a bit unwieldy. Don't worry, we're working on revamping the user experience on the site, to make our tools as accessible as possible. Stay tuned!
